- Sir Bani Yas Island - remains of a pre-islamic christian monastery, probably built by Nestorian christians for pilgrims travelling from India. Appears to have continued to operate for a hundred years after the coming of Islam
- India
- Byzantine solidi have been found in south India. While not evidence of direct trading contact shows that coins were regularly traded to India as form of recognised portable wealth - see here for a report on late antique/early Byzantine coins being found
