running log
- 23 November 2009
- first day out. barely managed a kilometre before having to pull up. Coughing like a Bronte for an hour or so afterwards
- 25 November 2009
- better. still not much more than a km but breathing easier and no great period of coughing and spluttering afterwards
- 27 November 2009
- a little better. Sharing a bottle of very nice white with J last night possibly wasn't the best prepartion. Still progress is progress
- 30 November 2009
- Not good - cramp in my right calf forced me to pull up after 200m - possibly the result of digging in the garden yesterday
- 2km at a fast walk and 15 half pushups instead. Not enough cardio though
- Weight 81.4kg
- 02 December 2009
- unseasonably chilly for second day of summer
- better run - up the bike path to Bugden and along the top to the second drop down to Mullan Cresecent plus 15 half pushups
- say 60-70% of my initial target
- chest still a little tight but no C19 style coughing and spluttering
- 04 December 2009
- even better - say 90% of initial target
- concentrating now on the final 10% and building better stamina
- chest getting looser
- 07 December 2009
- felt heavy and sluggish after a late evening the night before
- still close to the target - managed same distance as on 04/12
- 09 December 2009
- still close to target - breathing better and managing the the same distance as 04/12
- need to push distance out a little more
- things beginning to tighten up - unfortunately this includes my right hamstring
- 11 December 2009
- still runing same distance as 09/12 and 04/12
- breathing is getting easier
- joints and muscles creaking a bit - guess that's waht you get for being 53!
- 14, 16 and 18 December 2009
- been bushwalking - no running
- 21 December 2009
- despite the bushwalking no faster or further than previously - need to push past barrier
- saw six kangaroos this morning including three on the bike path outside our house
- 23 December 2009
- Not good. Had to pull up with cramp in my right calf after 400m. Finished the rest of the run as a fast walk.
- 25, 27 and 29 December 2009
- seem to have twisted my ankle - perhaps the pulled muscle was a result of trying to compensate for the ankle. No running
- 01, 03 and 05 January 2010
- ankle still twisted - no running
- went bush walking on 04 January 2010 - ankle really sore afterwards
- and that was January apart from a serious bushwalk on 18 January and some reasonably serious walking round Fadden. Regrettably it looks like physio unless things improve …
… they didn't, but at least I'm walking …
so we bought a cross trainer to exercise in the comfort of our own home …
- 03 June 2010
